That is the primary source of energy in our solar system. It represents life on billions of living beings on the planet Earth. It is the source of light and life. The generous and non-exhaustive resource in the form of solar energy is free and available Almighty. Humans have made this resource into a usable form of energy and use it for the benefit of society. Many say that this energy is to replace the other form of clean energy sources in the near future. The process for this change is an extension of human ingenuity and a rapid change in technology since the 1970s.
Historically, the sun is the only source of energy for all living beings on earth. With the increase in the consumption of energy in the world of today and the greenhouse phenomenon as a possible threat to the existence of the planet, solar and other alternative forms of energy are gaining favor. They are relatively cheap to produce and no harmful emissions such as carbon based energy sources.
So how does solar energy? The process of transforming the rays of the sun in a usable form requires energy conversion, storage and use of radiation in a form that can be used by the energy-consuming appliances. The different ways in which this energy is converted and used depends on the technology used to use. For drying clothes, direct sunlight is enough. For the power supply satellite, direct sunlight, together with a storage mechanism is not required. Cars with a combination of hybrid batteries and charge them with sunlight.
The primary method of using solar energy is in photovoltaic cells. It began in the 1950s for use in U.S. space satellite program. They are made of silicon. When sunlight strikes the solar cell, it makes the electrons to move. The electrons move to the front of the treated solar panel. This leads to an electron imbalance between the front and back of the surface of the panels. With the accession of the two surfaces, a conductor, as a wire, and current begins to flow. The individual solar cells are together in a PV module and the modules are grouped together to form an array. This current is used to recharge cells and this energy is used to light lamps, lamps and tubes also the driving of motor vehicles. The electricity can also be used to equipment.
Another method of using solar energy is the use of curved reflectors to direct the sun's rays to a convergence, and then a power system such as a photo-cell and store energy. Plants such as those run in the U.S. and India.
Solar energy is abundant in the world and is perhaps the only freely available energy source, with little or no pollution contribution. Its conversion into usable forms of energy has become possible in recent years and more and more advanced and improved methods available to us to exploit their full potential.
In the energy crisis ridden world, the sun could again come to our rescue.
